Currently MyPlace doesn't have the ability for users to create their own groups. Currently, the team at MyPlace can create a group for you, and give admin privileges to one person to manage the group.
The Solution
Add a Group Creation Process in their website.

Usability Review
To help me better understand the product, I conducted a usability to identify pain points and wow moments in the existing experience

Following a usability review I defined the primary and secondary business and user frustrations

Secondary Frustration
When the group has been created, admin rights are only granted to one person to configure settings and add other members to the group.
Competitor Benchmarking
With a usability review complete, I moved on to competitor benchmarking to help me identify standards in competitor products that could be used to improve the existing experience.

Users do not have the option to create a group on their own.

Users want to create groups of their own so that they are comfortable sharing their homes with a selected group of people.
How might we provide a smooth group creation experience?
Affinity Map
To validate the initial observations made from our usability review and competitor benchmarking we conducted a user interview and synthesised the results to identify the key problems they experienced.
Ideation
To avoid following the first idea I conducted a series of ideation techniques. This allowed me to consider an array of solutions. Following ideation I mapped what could be improved or added to the product and what the impact of each idea would be for users and the business.

Following Ideation I created user flows of the existing experience and improved the flow based on the idea that fit with business and user goals
Rapid Prototyping
Having mapped an improved user flow I spent time rapidly prototyping a solution. Sketching helped me rapidly iterate on the original idea and visualise a solution without committing too early to hi-fidelity screens.
